Well I am not sure how they run their distance learning programs, but Ohio University is a good academic school and recognized nationally. I know a few people who went their for undergrad and grad school (on campus) and said they loved it. A very good school.

I checked out the U of Illinois at Springfield Masters of Teaching and Learning. I just started the masters program at CCHS, but I'm not happy with the lack of communication, so I'm considering finishing the class I paid for and going elsewhere. Since I'm financing this venture on my own, cost is a big factor. I have my BA from a well known state university, the name is not a consideration for the masters, only that it is accredited.

One thing that turns many DL learners off on the Ohio State program is that they only offer a BSS for Bachelor of Specialized Studies as opposed to the traditional B.A. or B.S. OU specifically states on their web page: "BSS rule: The BSS cannot duplicate an established major program at Ohio University in either area of concentration title or course selection" http://www.ohiou.edu/adultlearning/guidestart.htm

They do have traditional A.S. and A.A. designations along with an Associate of Individualized Studies (AIS).
