I tried to do a search on this forum but for some reason nothing came up. Does anyone know anything about this university? What is its reputation good/bad? Has anyone ever done a DL degree with them (or more specifically law?). Thanks for any insight!!
Are you refering to St. Thomas University in Minneapolis, MN. If so, it is a well respected regionally accredited (RA) Catholic university? There is also the RA St. Thomas U. in Florida or are you refering the St. Thomas U. in New Brunswick, Canada -- or a different school? John
Yes it is St. Thomas in Florida. Apparently, they have a DL LLM program (I saw it in www.llm-guide.com) but they have very little info about it on their web site.
The course website is at http://www.llmprogram.org/ The introductory brochure lurks on the course catalogue pages at http://www.llmprogram.org/Docs/LLM._InternationalTaxBrochure.pdf Angela
Please help with questions Online LL.M from St. Thomas University Hi everyone. I needed some advice from those of you who have been there. I am planning on doing the online LL.M. in Taxation from St. Thomas University in South Florida but I have a few questions? a. I understand that the St. Thomas University is ABA approved - does this apply to their Masters program as well? b. What has your experience learning online with the University been like - is it worth the money? c. After doing the LL.M. have your job prospects improved? d. Would you recommend the program? I would appreciate any help in this matter.
I recently saw a discussion about the St Thomas LLM on the www.malet.com discussion board. There is a poster there who has apparently completed the program. From what he says it is challenging, but he seemed pleased with it. From what Nosborne has said in the past the ABA approves JD programs, and it seems like St Thomas' JD program is ABA approved. This LLM program seems to be a favourite back door for those who don't have an ABA JD but who can write their state bar exam with a LLM from an ABA school. I don't know if many people have succeeded in doing this (I would guess not), but there is always a lot of talk about it.
