My wife has 5 year Masters degree from Ukraine, evaluated by a reputable service as BBA in Management. She worked as an accountant back there before comming to USA with me. She will apply to grad school here in Tallahassee. Meanwhile, we are thinking about getting those LSU courses in Accounting for her, both for personal enrichment and possible future CPA licensure. Money is the huge factor (we survive on my graduate assistantship).

Is there a possibility that her degree plus 8 to ten courses from LSU can qualify her for a second bachelor's in Accounting from any of Big Three?

BTW: I found out about LSU IS courses on this board. Thank you guys!

It is possible, most accounting degrees require approximately 33 to 36 hours of accounting courses. This would be 11 or 12 courses but why not look for a program where she could take the same amount of courses and get a masters degree. I am not sure where you plan on living but most states now require the equivalent of a masters in accounting to take the CPA Exam. Good Luck.

Well, $211 for a 3-credit course is a price hard to beat (especially if we talk graduate level). I might be wrong, but CPA in most states requires 150 cr. h. overall and 18 to 33 hours accounting (wich is, of course, usually means Master's in accounting, but by no means requires it). And again, money is a HUGE factor.

Does anyone have experience with Big 3?

You are right - quite a bit more expensive but you have a Masters in Accounting - which is a lot more marketable than a bachelors.

For Auburn University see here - http://www.auburn.edu/distance_learning/programs/bus_macct/index.php

$15,345... If we had this kind of money, she'll go for FSU MAcc.
In fact, she will try to get into FSU PhD in Business Admin, with aid (so we'll have two doctoral students in the family). Unfortunately, since we're not able to move, her backups are other programs in FSU and FAMU (like economics and maths), and she really wants to study accounting. LSU courses might save the day, and ability to turn them into a degree would be just icing on the cake.
