This one-post-thread has been ignored for just about 12 years now so I thought I'd dust it off for you all. They offer a handfull of degrees and even a couple of online courses.

Seems like a good place to mention the United Nations's other chartered university, the University for Peace which offers a DL Masters.

At us$15k for a master, one would have thought that the UN would have been more egalitarian in its offering.

$15k is pretty light for a Masters degree. What price point do you feel would have been more appropriate?

I also think it is some rather clever marketing. UPeace isn't trying to pluck the poor out of the third world and into their degree program. I'd wager that the people who primarily go out for advanced degrees in things like "Sustainable Peace in the Contemporary World" are not pursuing the education so that they can funnel their vast earnings back to their village.

The primary audience is likely people from first world countries (subsequently used to paying first world tuition, where a $15k masters is completely reasonable) who are trying to get UN and NGO jobs.

The UN would also do well to not intentionally try to lure people out of Africa and Asia as both continents have a serious brain drain problem as it is.

I think you are saying the programme is not quite egalitarian.

Onne of the things I like about their online offerings is that there are certificate, advanced certificate and diploma programs available for those who can't commit to the whole Masters program. That way, if you can only take a few courses you still have a nice little credential to show for it, not just a handful of credits.

I'm trying to get an answer from you as to what would make the program "egalitarian?" $10k? $5k? Does it have to be free to be "egalitarian?"

30% to 50% tuition waiver is definitely relevant information.
