The American Webster University in Geneva(Switzerland) is now offering CLEP testing. However, they charge around $270 for a single CLEP exam. That includes the $50 ETS charges, though; the remaining $220, however, are administration fees. Is this amount acceptable for a single CLEP exam? What amounts for administration do they charge you in the US?

$270.00 per exam? For multiple exams it might be cheaper to include testing with a U.S. vacation. Maybe you could suggest to Lufthansa a "CLEP Tour" vacation package. :)

In the U.S. these tests cost about $75.00.

I take them for $50, plus a $15 administrative fee at North Georgia College and State University (ngcsu.edu).

The Community College I took my tests at charged $5 above the CLEP fee. I believe it was a total of $55.

Damn, did you ask if you could make monthly payments?

That is some serious mark up just to be a proctor.

Let me guess: There is no other place in all of Switzerland to take CLEP exams. Basically, they can charge whatever they want although I would think that the College Board would have a maximum amount.

Perhaps you should consider sending them an email at College Board .

That is criminal. I believe there is a testing site in England that may be more reasonable. $270 is highway robbery. If you're taking more than 2 exams get on a plane and come to the States.

    Good luck,

    Mike
