Is anyone aware of a low or no-residency Doctor of Engineering or PhD(Engineering) program within the US or UK?

    Thanks in advance.

It is not in the US or UK

However, I have talked to the Durban Institute of Technology in Durban, South Africa about their Doctor of Technology in Business Administration. They stated it would require little or no travel to SA. This may also apply to their D Tech in Engineering. Here is the URL:

It would probably be much more affordable than a program in the US or UK. Hope it helps.

I did a survey of UK EngD and DProf programs recently but came up blank on any DL options.

If you took a minute and clicked on the"Find a School" link you would find that Colorado State, Mississippi State, Central Missouri State, Columbia, University of Massechusetts: Amherst and Indiana State all offer doctorate programs in engineering via dl.

Columbia's is not a doctoral program, per se. It's a professional degree that requires the doctoral coursework, but no dissertation, hence no PhD.

In general there in the US there are two DL Engineering programs, both of which require some residency, and one Engineering Technology program that also requires some residency. Depending where you live and work there are a few others.

The ones that ar open to anyone are:

    Engineering

Colorad State Industrial Engineering which requires attending at least four weekend classes at Colorad State.

University of Alabama in Huntsville Industrial Engineering whihc also requires some weekend classes.

    Technology Managment

Indiana State Phd Consortium that might be non-residency.

There are a couple of other specialty programs where the professor comes to you if your company will pay for it such as
Michigan Tech DL Program in mechanical engineering.
