I have been reading this board for a couple of months now, and I have been able to narrow down to a couple of choices for myself to obtain a business degree.

Unfortunately, I have not had the same kind of luck searching for something for my husband. My husband has an associates degree from Ivy Tech State College (RA), in Electrical Engineering Technology. This was obtained in the late 1980's. Since then he has over 15 years of experience as a Test Engineer, and the past
several years has held the title of Senior Test Engineer. He is now thinking about going back to obtain a bachelors degree in either Electrical or Computer Engineering.

Here are the problems we are having:
    1) The degree was obtained in Indiana and we now live in Florida, so the degree completion program that Indiana State offers isnt feasible because they don't offer it out of state.

    2) I have thought about having him go to Grantham, but it is DETC accredited rather than RA accredited.

    3) I cannot find any RA online Bachelor degrees in Electrical or Computer engineering, only Masters degrees.

Here are a couple of questions that I have been trying to find answers to:

    1) Can my husband get a bachelors degree in Electrical engineering technology and then take some bridging courses and go after a Masters in Electrical Engineering? Does anyone know of a college that allows this?

    2) Would he be better off getting a bachelors in EET from Excelsior even though it isnt a known Engineering school rather than getting one from Grantham, who is known for that since one is RA and the other isnt?

Any opinions, suggestions, ideas, etc would be greatly appreciated!

    THanks!

Excelsior offers engineering degrees that have both regional (Middle States) and professional accreditations (Technology Accreditation Commission and Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology). When an option is available, I would always choose the RA school to improve the chances of admission to graduate school.

    Check out these schools:

Weber State University - Odgen, Utah

    RA and ABET
    http://wsuonlin.weber.edu
    B.S: Computer Engineering Technology
    B.S: Electronics Engineering Technology

Live support during the day via text chat.

Old Dominion University - Nortfolk, Virginia
    RA and ABET
    http://www.odu.edu

    OTHERS: (these schools........residency maybe requires.)

    Florida Central University
    University of North Carolina
    University of North Dakota

Excelsior College also offers Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Techology....however you need to read its curriculum for more details. As Excelsior College is known as Distance Education under RA, so ABET requires to evaluate specific for each individual course. Beside student has to enroll into different school for each individual course; most of the courses are delivered by Indiana University. And I don't like Indiana University with my current experience.

    GOOD LUCK

You might want to check and make sure (email or something) that it is NOT offered out of state. There is someone on this board who, apparently, is in California and enrolled in ISU's BS in Electronics Technology.

Are you sure he wants an Engineering? Or does he want an Engineering Technology degree?

There are some (I am sorry I don't remember which ones). Usually you have to have a Calculus through ordiinary differential equations and a year of calc physics (EET degree usualy have only a year of calculus).

    Here is one:

If he doesn't mind sticking w/ engineering technology, ISU has the MS in Electronics and Computer Technology which is all online. It is different from a "Technology Management" (it actually some technical coursework instead of courses to teach how to manage something you don't know ;) ).

    Best Regards,
    Bill
