I once developed a department for the bank I worked in. It required developing a secondary mortgage department within a bank, setting up the guidelines, establishing the accounting procedure for retained earnings and remitting to investors, pooling mortgages for sale, training the bank officers about the products, bringing in correspondent lending banks, etc, etc. I even wrote a 120+ page manual for the new department. Was a lot of work and garnered me a VP position after it was in place (all without any degree behind me).

Now for the problem, I can't really prove it. The bank is still there but all the people involved with me during the process are long gone, the manual couldn't be found (although I doubt they truly looked).

I'd like to use this learning experience for a PLA, because if anyone learned anything about research, technical writing, training, recruitment and implementation of a concept, it was me. I could probably write a small book on what I did, how I did it, etc. But I can't really provide documentation other than several letters from people in the field that know I was at the center of this venture.

Any of you done this? What was it like and what did you provide to prove your learning was equivalent to college work?
