DL problem !!

    hi...all

    in my country the ministry of higher education does not accredit any sort of DL !!!

    really i feel bad !

    i wonder if there is an international law to help students overcome such a problem !

    Do you mean that there are no national DL programs or that DL degrees from elsewhere will not be recognized in Saudi Arabia?

    Or maybe you mean that teaching degrees earned by DL are not recognized?

    What is their view on regionally accredited (RA) US degrees? If they accept RA degrees then what would be the problem with earning a US degree by DL that would be accepted in your country?

    sorry for not being clear........

    in my country the ministry of higher education up to this moment does not recognize any certificates (degrees) gained by DL from any university or institute on earth even from big university in the UK and USA. this situation may change in the coming future !:eek:

    Hi Fadel. What does this non-recognition mean?

    Is it illegal to use a DL degree to teach in higher education?

    Or, is it illegal to use a DL degree as a credential in business and industry as well?

    If the problem is that the DL degree is foreign, do any of the universities in your country offer DL?

    there is no distance learning inside saudi arabia except for the arab open university which is still developing its start with few degrees. .
    any higher certificate from (uop for example )must be confirmed FIRST from the ministry of higher education before it can be used in saudi arabia and since they dont recognize distance learning as a whole the degree will not be recognized not because it is a foriegn degree but because of FEAR of sold degrees and low quality learning.

    such a shame!

    even under developed countries in Asia understand and accept legitimate DL degrees.

    Fadel,

    Is it a possibility for you to take DL courses to be tranferred to an acceptable university in Saudi Arabia or neighboring country? That would not be an answer to your problem but it might help.
