Russian DL?

I could probably come up with one or two reasons why someone might conceivably prefer a Russian DL program to one of the other available choices. If you can too then you might want to look at Nizhi Novgorod State University.

The engineers on the forum could also take a look at Novosibirsk State Technical University.

This might well be a valuable information for those of us who might consider Russian degrees, especially Russians in the US. Both universities are reputable. Novosibirsk, as the regional center of Russian Academy of Science, is especially known for quality of its universities. However it is not clear that programs at the two schools are fully DL. One might consider, for example, www.openuniversity.ru - Far East State University for numerous DL programs up do doctoral level. No affiliation on my part, i just followed a couple of links on two sites provided.
Jack, why all the interest in Rusian DL?

    Thanks, Jack.

Funny thing, I had just finished looking through the site for Kaliningrad State University to see if they offered DL. Nope, you kant do DL from KSU. Too bad--a degree from the Albertina (even if you kant (oh, stop it) call it Koenigsberg any more) would really be cool. It is gratifying, though, to see that KSU is aware of its long inheritance and is taking steps to preserve archival material, etc., that made it through the war.

I don't have any particular interest in Russian DL. It was just some info I stumbled over one day and I thought I'd post it in case others were interested. I suppose it's interesting to once again note that DL is everywhere. To me it's the same issue as the recent thread related to DL programs in Amsterdam, etc. It's good to put the info on the degreeinfo web site so that someday someone with a very specific need might get a "hit" if they do a search of the archives. The internet at its best.

    Dear Jack:

Thanks for posting the information Russian DL offerings! Having an interest in engineering, your links might have been extremely useful to me, were it not that I have already discovered Technikon SA. Should I discover a Russian purveyor of BSEE-equivalant degrees, at attractive prices, I might well be tempted.

Considering that their educational system is the only system they had that actually worked, I can't imagine why they aren't a bigger player in the DL field.

    Cordially,
