    Hi,
I need to write a dissertation proposal and was wondering if there might be a site or publication which shows some examples. I don't need to actually write the dissertation right now (in about 6 months) but I do need to submit the proposal with 7 weeks.

I am confident that I can write one without these examples, but I thought it best to look at other work, if possible.
    thank you

Does your institution not provide any "how-to" materials related to the preparation of research proposals? They should have something to offer you that would provide insight into style, format, etc.

Yes, I have access to the 'nuts and bolts' of construction, but just wanted to see a finished product. I am very visually-oriented and this will help me get a feel for what is required. Actually, since posting, I have found a couple that are probably suitable; haven't looked at them closely yet.
    thanks

From my masters experience and anticipating a doctoral disertion the disertion proposal is basically the first three chapters (Intro, literature & methodology) of the dissertion written in future tense.

    Go to

About.com. They have samples for everything. I used one from there as a guide.

Thanks for the input everyone! I have narrowed it down to this:
The Psychological and Social Impact of the Private Club Member / Employee Relationship. A working title; for now.

This stems from advice given on this board re: my upcoming dissertation from about a year ago when I had posted an experience here at the club where a member died on the 18th fairway. It was suggested by several members of this forum that I use this as a basis for my dissertation.

I intend to show that this relationship is very different and stronger than in a for-profit setting. Restaurant, bar, and hotel employees seldom, if ever, have a close-knit relationship with their patrons and if they do; it has a lesser impact on their lives.

I will attend the Club Manager's conference in Anaheim this Feb. where I will survey as many people as possible in a 2 day period. Details of how I am going to do this are still not finalized; I may just sit in the exhibition area!

Any thoughts or suggestions from the forum? I would be delighted to hear your comments.
