I had a strange experience with CTU from one of their admission counselors. I had requested some information and received a call. The caller asked if I had received the information they had sent out. I had not and we had a discussion about their graduate degree programs. The caller was somewhat hesitant about sending out a complete package because it was extensive and large and that they wanted an enrollment. I let them know that I wanted to review the literature first. They agreed to send out an e-mail with the material as an attachment. This too never arrived but the caller attempted to get in touch with me again to get me to sign up. Overall, I was surprised at the agressiveness in getting students to enroll and the approach in hoarding information on the program.

    Just an observation,

    John

    Pushy CTU

I just had a very disturbing incident interviewing with CTU also. I was inquiring on their Master's in Network Security. Everything seemed to be okay until after the phone conversation. I e-mail the admission lady and explained that I would not be enrolling at this time due to personal reasons. I receive a very twisted e-mail telling me that their recommendation was being pulled and how having their degree would benefit my career, basically I disappointed them (her). Please keep in mind this counselor sounds like she's all of 20 years old and I'm person with 14 years of IT experience and on a fast track currently in the federal government. I replied with an e-mail pointing out that CTU's or the admissions counselor’s high pressure tactics are really a turn off for me, considering there are other school such as JIU, Touro, PHol,UMBC and my former school AIU. I really don’t like their tactics at all, so rude and insulting. I’m not to worried about getting accepted to CTU because I have the GI bill a great GPA and I’m eligible for Federal loans.
Just wanted to share my experience this week. I still like the schools master’s in security but I will have to speak with someone a little more mature in the future.

    CTU

Good Morning, I had a very disturbing discussion with CTU in which I said several times I was not financially prepared for this venture. They were extremely pushy about loans and later discussions with another admission officer. I cancelled further discussions with their representative. I received another call about the cancellation. If that is a preview- forget it. Hille

CTU is owned by the same parent company as AIU, Career Education Corporation. I had a wonderful experience when I applid for admissions to AIU, however a family member of mine recently contacted them and found that they too were using pushy sales tactics. It seems like a trend in the for profit colleges... they want car salesmen not "advisors."
