Hello everybody! I just found out about this site and I am very confident you can help me with my questions. I am working towards my BA,which does not have a teaching emphasys,and I would like to get a TESOL certificate online before I graduate and teach English in Italy. Does anybody know if online certificates are enough to teach English there? Any new suggestions regarding the validity of an online Tesol Certificate? Thank you for your help! Stefy
There are some online programs available. The one put on by Transworld Schools is good. My recommendation is not to do one that does not include some kind of practice teaching. Teaching is an art and a science. It's important to learn the textbook side and the classroom side.
P.S. Last time I checked, Italy was not the easiest place to secure an English teaching position for non-EU passport holders. You may want to check into this as well. Tom Nixon
