Western Ohio University Fakelift

Western Ohio University had been using a fair amount of graphics that had also appeared on the Brentwick and Shelbourne University web pages. See http://www.osac.state.or.us/oda/oregon_north_dakota/index_or.html#westernohio for screen shots... the Brentwick and Shelbourne sites had been ordered closed by the FTC last January.

The WOU site has undergone extensive retooling, with the mod dates on (some) pages showing as November 3, 2003.

The quality of these "accreditation" web sites are incredibly simple. Any ten year old child with basic knowledge of html can create one of these bogus agencies.

 

Our methods are equally simple. Prospective students apply for the degree and major they are seeking. Accepted students pay a simple standard fee tuition. The standard fee tuition is a concept pioneered by WOU. You pay a flat fee for the level of degree you seek..........Have more questions? So they "pioneered" the pay for a degree concept. How innovative. Almost as innovative as their "approach to education".

One good thing is at least they are accredited. By two accreditors, no less:

The Internet University Accreditation Association (www.internetaccreditation.biz).

That should ease some minds.
