In my excitement I didn't realize that I applied for the D.Th. Guess I will have to email and find out what's going on. Could simply be a slip up on somebody's part.

    super,

    SUPER JIMMY

But I have to ask a question. Yesterday, I worked 8 hours on the dissertation and four this morning before 10AM. My mind is absolutely blasto. At 11AM, I want to go back to bed. And I only teach now part time!

Yet, I understand with the addition of Free State you now will be doing *three* programs, one of which includes Heb/Grk.

So, how do you pastor a church, do an M.S., do an MDiv, AND do a Dth simulataneously? Are you SUPER, Jimmy:D ?

Jimmy - they let you into a DTh program - that is not a bad thing - trust me, you are lucky - don't question it.

Re: Re: Accepted by Free State!

Thanks, Bill. Perhaps I can call on you from time to time for advice and guidance, especially with the Biblical languages. No, I am not "Super Jimmy." I use the morning from about 7-1 for study and school time. I can get quite a bit accomplished in those 6 hours. I use the afternoons for visiting, calling, evangelizing, etc. I begin sermon preparation Sunday after church and prepare it all during the week. I have been blessed with an excellent memory (although it's slipping of late) and preach without notes and, most of the time, extemporaneously. Working on my studies affords me the opportunity for simultaneous sermon preparation. I read a lot and don't watch much television except Fox News, four shows on NBC (the Law and Order programs and Boomtown) and two on CBS (The District and Hack). I watch three shows on TV Land (Andy Griffith, McGyver and Sanford and Son).

Interesting, a person living in Scio (from the Latin "I know"/"scientia"--"knowledge/wisdom") working on a doctorate!

    Congratulations

Congratulations Jimmy. You are now poised to earn a real doctorate. I hope that your unaccredited doctoral diploma has been ashed.

    Free State Doctorate via Distance

Free State does offer Doctoral degrees via distance learning??

I cant afford Capella, Walden, Union, Touro etc and I am interested in an affordable option in the area of management administration etc.

Could you give some more detailed information or a point of contact and how much the program would cost??

Re: Free State Doctorate via Distance

Hi Dave - I'm sorry to be the one to break it to you but I do not think that UFS has a doctoral program in "disasterology."
If, despite this, you continue to be interested in the prospect of a UFS degree, I'd like to direct you to their web site:
    http://www.uovs.ac.za
Most of your questions will find answers there.

    Re: Congratulations

Thank you Ike, but I have to say I am not and never have been ashamed of my Bethany doctorate. I worked hard for it doing real work, conducting extensive and exhaustive case studies and spent a year in a RAPHA- affiliated counseling center for my internship. Furthermore, with my Bethany education I was able to pass the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor's Exam and become a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I proudly display my Bethany Ph.D. on my wall and will always recommend Bethany to anyone desiring a theology degree from a state licensed institution if accreditation is not an issue. The other degrees are "ashed," and have been for some time now. Again, thanks.

Gee, Alan, ever since reading this post I cannot get the Charlie Pride song, The Easy Part's Over Now, out of my mind. Sorry it couldn't be a Hank Snow, Buffy St. Marie or Ann Murray song, ha!
