The City Manager of Sterling Heights, MI was fired when it was discovered that he had lied about his education when he applied for the City job and to obtain a part-time teaching position at Oakland University,

    _____________
"Duchane's biography, which was removed from the city's Web site Saturday, had said he earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan-Flint and a master's degree from Century University, an online university based in New Mexico.

A U-M spokeswoman said Monday the school has "no record of his graduation or attendance."

Century officials said they cannot confirm a student's academic record without the student's permission." (Detroit News, Oct 14, 2003)
    _________
However he left his position with Sterling Heights with lifetime health care benefits and a $117,065 severance check.

Potential employer says: ""He said he had made a mistake many years ago," Brown said. "I thought it was a good answer."

Seems to me that every day he was at work, without having corrected his lies, was perpetuating the mistake. That would take it all the way back to October 2003.

Is potential employer aware that in the summer of 2000, Duchane falsely claimed to have a bachelor's degree so he could teach a course in Administrative Ethics  at Oakland University? (See Warguns' first link above.)
