Try Touro for the PHD in business, they are about $500.00 per credit.

Well Jason, I'm not quite sure where to begin. There certainly are DL doctoral programs in Psychology (you haven't said which branch interests you). You could look at CIIS, Capella, Saybrook, Pacifica Graduate Institute, Fielding, Northcentral as well as a whole bunch of non-US schools. My own personal belief is that there are no doctoral degrees that do "not require an incredible amount of time committment." Or at least none that are worth owning. You may need to do some preliminary research to make sure that you are actually prepared to undertake such an endeavor. As has been recently cited in another thread, the PhD dropout rate is quite large. Finally, I would have to wonder about your academic background because I would expect it to be rather difficult for someone without a substantial background in psychology to gain admission to a credible psychology PhD program.

I currently have an MBA and am looking to earn a phd in either psychology (preferred) or Business/Management. I am working full time and need to find a DL program that will not require an incredible amount of time commitment. I am prepared to enter a program that even has less of an accredidation such as a State accredidation (California). In all cases, I would greatly appreciate a recommendation for a recognized, affordable, and educational program preferrably with no or minimal resid. requirements.
    Thank you!

Although my MBA specialization is Entrepreneurship, I have been involved in counseling for several years as a volunteer in the community and in several post-high school learning programs. This has given me a tremendous satisfaction as I see the "Return On Investment" from helping people with their life's challenges. I feel that I wish to pursue a PHD that will give me the formal education this requires as well as to lend credibility to my efforts in helping people. It 's not that I wish to change my career now to leave business to become a full time therapist and I therefore not specifically looking for the most accredited and accepted program. If I can not find such as suitable PHD program in Psychology, I would try to find one in Management or even Organizational psychology (more of a business program) because this will enable me to have an even bigger impact in my work. Of course, I understand that I will need to put in work to earn the Phd but my work and volunteer activities keep me to busy to put into this a heavy duty load (which would necessitate my cutting down on volunteering which I'd rather maintain and prefer to sacrifice on the acceptability of a Phd).

Thank You. I appreciate all recomendations.

    try organizational psych

Try the organizational/industrial psych program at NCU, it relates more to your MBA and you might get more a more favorable credit tranfer. If you want to get away from business a bit and merge psych with business, also look at Capella's doctorate in human services. There is always Union Institute and University, but they are very expensive (not course-based tuition) and less structured.

Any quality degree is a lot of work and involvesa huge commitment in money, time, and effort.

If you want to save a few bucks and sacrifice some acceptability and credibility, look at the individualized PhD at the Optimal Performance Institute in California. It may be the only Cal approved, non- RA doctorate left.

You need to find a mentor with a doctorate, the school doesn't provide.
