    Hi bo79,

I thought you are looking for a DL LL.M. program???

I am planing on getting my MBA by DL. Just I am kind of stuck in a small dilemma, because I can't decide is I should get my MBA from a UK school or a US school. What are the positives and the negatives of US MBA and a UK MBA? Which MBA would be more suitable for someone living in Canada?

    Thanks,
    Bo

    Hey Sshuang,

I am going to be doing both a LLM & DL MBA. I have not decided yet if I am going to be doing my LLM by DL or do it traditionally at York University.

I have found that legitimate accredited degrees (business, social sciences etc...) are accepted by most people and employers as legitimate accredited degrees regardless of the schools nation of origin.

I would say that a recognized American and British MBA would both hold weight in the eyes of a Canadian employer.

    The dual degree...
Yeah, it's very common here in the US, JD/MBA.

There are people here with a lot more expertise than I. But I would say it depends on a few things, including what exactly you want to do with the MBA and what your focus within the MBA would be. In other words, you have to find the right program(me) for you, which is going to depend on more factors than just UK versus US.

However, being in Canada you might find that a DL MBA from an American school might be very good if you plan on doing a lot of business with the US. On the other hand, a lot of people are going to be more impressed by the sound of a University of London MBA rather than (fior example) a Morehead State MBA (which is probably a fine program, but people have heard of London which lends it an element of prestige). On the third hand, if you want to pony up the hundred thousand bucks (US) Duke is going to impress the pants off anybody.

University of Southern Queensland offers an MBA, why not throw Australia into the mix? Also I think it might be one of the least expensive DL MBAs out there.

Have you considered Canadian DL MBAs? Royal Rhodes University and Athabasca University both have programs, although I find both a little costly.

I agree. MBA (any education for that matter) is more widely accepted in Canada and would be more useful if its from Canadian or American College but Australian is another option that should be looked into as it has the same quality and acceptance as UK MBA.

There is also a new MBA program from Canadian University in Ontatio, that someone told me about. This program can be completed in a very short time. I will see if I can find some info on it.

Being everyhting else equal (prestige, curriculum, fees, etc....) I think it may probably be better for you an American university since you live in Canada, and those two countries have some many ties.

Plus I like America a lot more than the UK! :D
