Impossible Dream For African Students

    This may be one contributing factor in the apparent shift that sees South African universities demonstrating increased interest in DL programs (especially for non-SA students who pay full fees in cash).

    Jack,

    Thank you for posting the article for us to peruse. It is true as stated in the article that affluent, elite students pursue higher education. The cash stream from the affluent families was unlimited. Now, everybody wants a university education. Becuase of the contemporary desire for higher education, my view is that most of the universities in africa now have a new mission of educating all their indegenes. Unfortunately, the new mission was never designed with strategies for attracting new funding streams. Hence, you have chaos in the process. Thank you.
