Suggestions on studying for the CSET (California Subject Examinations for Teachers) Multiple Subject (i.e., elementay school) Exam:

Download the official practice test: http://www.cset.nesinc.com/CS_viewPT_opener.htm
This requires downloading the Java runtime environment first. But it has full-length tests, which means more sample questions than the .pdf file (e.g., 52 vs 19 questions for the math and science subtest).

The CSET is a new exam, so there aren't many books out. But here's a Cliffs book:

    The material from Teaching Solutions:
    http://www.cateachingsolutions.com/cthsisimusub1.html
may not be the most useful. The book consists of 76 math questions (all multiple-choice, although the questions on the actual CSET are not all multiple-choice); and then 133 pages of reading matter on other subjects, with no questions at all! The CD-ROM just has the pages of the book, in .pdf format!

There's something called "ACE the CSET", but the Website says:
"Confab Publishing will be closed from October 10th thru October 15th, 2003, no orders can be placed during this time."
    http://www.acethecset.com/order.html

This board seems to be a good place to contact fellow examinees:
    http://teachers.net/mentors/student_teaching/posts.html?
A fellow there named Dave has been persistently warning people against both Teaching Solutions and Confab.

The CSET replaces the Praxis MSAT, so some of the preparation books for the Praxis MSAT may (or may not) be helpful.

    Anyone have anything to add?
