Disclaimer: The following information is non-official and simply from a student attending the institution:

I just got back from the Arizona Colloquia where I asked a main staff person from Capella about a rumor concerning programmatic accreditation. What I found out was that basically it is a "done deal" that some time next year the school of Human Services will receive CACREP accreditation. This is a prestigious standing since few schools of counseling obtain this. Many state boards give you a very easy acceptance into your state requirements for counseling licensure on the Masters level when they know that a school is CACREP accredited. These folks are the ones who determine the training standards for Masters level Professional Counseling (L.P.C., L.M.H.C., etc.).

The latest I heard concerning the APA programmatic accreditation of the Clinical Psych Ph.D. program is that Capella is gunning to get the accreditation as soon as possible. They hope to get it in 4-5 years unless they can get some fast tracking through.
