I've been browsing this forum for the past few day, and I have to say it's been illuminating.
I'm thinking of taking a degree at ERAU, as I'd like to work in the aviation field. I'm curious if anyone has experience with their DL program. I'd probably take a combination of on-line classes and classes at our local campus (in the UK)

I am taking a DL class from Embry Riddle (Mathematics for Aviation I). They use blackboard and (atleast in this course) have two proctored exams (I just took the mid term this morning). They have 12 week classes. Some classes are offered every month and some every other month. So far, (this instructor) seems pretty good.

    Best Regards,
    Bill

    Hi

You can't go wrong with Embry Riddle, however I am very satisfied with Mountain State University. It is not as well known as ERAU but they have a great BS in Aviation Management. You can use more CLEP and Dantes with this degree. They are also regionally accredited. Their website is mountainstate.edu, if you need information email me.

I did my bachelors through Embry. Out of the 17 classes I took through them, nine were in class and eight were online. The online classes consisted of one or two two proctored tests, a handful of online quizes, and one to three papers. If one paper was required, it was 10-12 pages. If multiple papers were required, they were shorter. I only had one class that required three papers. The only other requirement for all the online classes was answering a weekly or bi-weekly question on the bulletin board. I liked Embry because it was very generous in taking transfer credit and very willing to work with me around deployments. In general, I recommend Embry. The Professional Aeronautics degree, in my opinion, is basically a general studies degree since it only has a few required classes. It is a good option if you are interested in doing multiple minors. The Management of Technical Operations degree is a basic management degree. My experience has been that most people do the aviation safety minor.
