    Hi,

Has anyone taken this exam? Any recommendations as to which is the best study guide?

    Regards,

I think that the economics GRE exam, along with the Engineering and Geology ones have been discontinued.

Anyway, I prepared for the economics one using a standard textbook; it was in Spanish, but I am pretty sure you will have not problem obtaining "Economics" from Ben Bernanke. Although it was a whole book covering both microeconomics and macroeconomics, I think that perhaps in its original encarnation it was two separate books, one for micro and the other for macro. It was useful for all the stuff in micro and macro economics, which was about 70% of the test. The rest was statistics, econometry and petty stuff. On other resources, I do not know if Princeton Review series has a "Cracking the GRE Economics" book, but the one on engineering was pretty useful.

    Hope this helps you,
    Aaron

If that exam is still available, the ETS should have a little guidebook with a few sample questions. More importantly, it should also give you what areas the exam will cover, and what proportion of the exam is dedicated to each area.

I found this extremely helpful when I took the GRE Sociology test in 1980. I didn't study for the test, but when I noticed that 15% of the test was on statisitics, I knew I was in. I hadn't taken a sociology course of any kind, but I was skilled in stats.

    Again, check with ETS.
