Has anyone enrolled or completed the Capella University certificate programs? I am looking at the Certificate in Executive Development . I wil complete my MS-ITM next summer and I am torn between a PhD in Business, which would look great on my resume OR some type of education in Organizational Psychology, which I would enjoy. Any feedback would be great.
I seriously looked at Capella a few years back, and one of the things I liked was that if you completed a certificate, all the credits would transfer into a degree program if you enrolled later. The certificate is perfect to "test-drive" the school, and if you decide it's not for you, at least you have something to show for it.
Sticker Shock! At $1275/class and 4-6 classes for a certificate, it's pretty damn pricy for a certificate ($5,100 fro 4 classes). This is just slightly less than I paid total for 10 classes leading to a MS Ed at Cal State Hayward just a year ago. The first 4 classes were about $2400 which gave me a certificate. If someone is helping to pay for it, I guess it's ok. The programs seem to be well designed, I don't know about the quality of their classes, tho. I've heard LOTS of complaints about U of Phoenix, but not Capella.
