I have done a search and I have Dr. Bears guide to "Best Education Degrees by Distance Learning" however there may be new programs out there or changes in programs that I am not aware of. Does anyone know of a US University (RA) that offers a Masters degree in Elementary Education entirely through DL. (No campus requirements) AND/OR an "add-on License" for Reading. My wife already has her teaching license in Elem. Edu and is looking for a Masters program for Elem. Edu specifically or an add-on license for Reading. Thanks in advance for all your input!! Duff
Western Governors University Western Governors University MA Teaching with Teacher Licensure, K-8 http://www.wgu.edu/wgu/academics/mat_listing.html "Master's in Elementary" is sort of an oxymoron, isn't it?
Re: Western Governors University Rio Salado College in Arizona is another choice. They offer an online certification program. Student teaching is arranged with your local school district. One point to bear in mind with either of these choices is that the school's state of residence must have reciprocity with your home state. For example, the state of Arizona has reciprocity with about 20 other states. This means that, for the most part, they would accept the Rio Salado certification as valid. That, of course, leaves you with 30 states that would require some additional work. Tom Nixon
Another newbie digging up an old thread to pump a school that I've never heard about before (it's even got it's own dotcom suffix). I haven't got time to check this out right now but maybe one of our intrepid investigators will give it the sniff test.
