Yeah, I get all those Concordia University online MEd and EdD program announcements on facebook. Which is ok with me, I like doing grad school online. I think I might someday take the plunge, but online education degrees are somewhere lower down on my degree wish list. I like Concordia. Most schools known as Concordia University or Concordia College are historically Lutheran, and that is credibility enough for me.

Afterhours, please let us know what you think of Concordia (also, which Concordia are you enrolling in? I've looked at CUW and CU-Portland)

I've been eyeing up the program at CUW and it looks interesting but I'm a bit on the fence. Also not sure I can commit to a degree program right now (And I really need to stop procrastinating on the SPHR exam).

But I'm curious about personal experiences with the school.

While I have no direct experience with the school, I live in Portland, and CU seems to be a well respected school.

I'm curious to know if there's a lot of "busy work" in the graduate education programs.

Ladylearner, I too am enrolling in Concordia. I have similar questions. Which track are you taking?

Concordia-Portland. I am waiting until my youngest goes away to college - this Fall. But I am doing it. Taking the plunge. Scout's honor.

I agree Ted, the fact that it is Lutheran, adds credibility. I am an "LLL" (Life Long Lutheran) all though not LCMS - I am ELCA. But, it's still all good.

One reason I chose Concordia is that I need a masters in anything - and I need it FAST. One year sounds good to me! I think that the danger of washout decreases with the length of the program.

I can add a certificate in teaching sociology at the college level (Appalachian State - NC) to accrue my requisite 18 credits, directly afterwards so that I can teach college.

Yes, I know how competitive it is to find adjunct positions. However, Lutherans do enjoy a good challenge along with a tater tot hot dish and the occasional beer. So, yeah. I'm doing it.

Actually, my cousin is looking at the ESOL track. She has been enrolled previously online degree programs.
