Thinking of joining CCU online to get my bachelors degree in business. I already have my associates degree from a community college.
I was very close to joining University of Phoenix online but too many things just didn't add up.
Wanting to hear from people who have been in this program.

    Thanks in advance!

I am curious what "didn't add up" regarding UoP, especially when that lacking equation pushed you towards CCU.

CCU operated as an unaccredited (but state-approved) school for a very long time. It is now accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC). DETC is recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education and the Council on Higher Education Accreditation as an accrediting body. Such recognition means that schools DETC accredits are generally recognized as accredited. However, some employers and many universities will not accept credits and degrees from DETC-accredited schools.

As in all such situations, you should exercise as much due diligence as possible to determine whether or not a degree from a DETC-accredited school will meet your present and future requirements. If the limitations of such a degree will not affect you personally, there are several advantages to pursuing one, especially cost.

I don't recommend University of Phoenix or a nationally-accredited school (DETC, ACICS, ACCSC, etc). There are way too many regionally-accredited colleges with better reputations to choose from.
