I am interested in going back to school to be a computer science teacher in the secondary education area (mainly high school). I would like to teach the general CS courses that high schools offer such as programming, webdesign, typing, photoshop, etc...

I currently hold a B.A. in Political Science but I don't exactly want to teach Political Science. I do not hold any certifications in teaching or computer science. But I am the founder of a technology startup, so I have a lot of experience in the web design and programming world.

What path should I take to become a computer science teacher in the state of PA?

I probably need a Secondary EDU teaching Certification. But what about the computer science aspect? Do I need to go back to school to get a CS related degree? Do I even need a Computer Science degree to teach CS at a school? I remember at my old high school we had one teacher who went to college for computer science teaching an accounting course.

Any help would be great, thanks

    Teaching Computer Science in PA

I have taught Computer Science including AP Computer science in PA. At the time (my last year at the high school was 2003) my district wanted secondary math certification, which I have. I was not sure if the requirements changed since then, but I just did a brief search it it seems it is up to the district, and they can cover this under business, math, careers/technology.

Here is a link to a website about teaching computer science with links for different states including PA:
