    Hello everyone!

I have a friend who is about to finish her BA in English literature. She was wondering if she continue to study English literature in graduate programs and post-graduate, will she be able to teach English in colleges/universities level?

Also, after days of researching, her program in English literature does not have a accreditation. Her institution is currently regionally accredited, is that enough for her degree to be high standard?

She will be qualified. Whether she is able to teach it depends highly upon the job market. For full-time positions in English, it's not pretty....at....all.

RA is all you need for English.

If I am not mistaken you can still teach with this major but depends on the standard of a school that she is practicing.

I recently completed my MAIS at WESTERN NEW MEXICO UNIVERSITY in English and Writing; I am now teaching English Comp and Literature at a local junior college. A little diversity is always a good thing.

You say that your friend want to be a college or University teacher. I think that your friend not ability for teach college or University because one college or University teacher have need many experience. So she have no experience on teacher. So if she want to teacher in college or University firstly she have need join one school and teach there and then she have many experience and then she can be teacher in college or University teacher.
