Hi, I am looking for 2 classes to take on-line to complete my degree in secondary education. 1. Individualized writing instruction 2. History of the English language any and all help is appreciated.
Some info... How about American Public University? Reasonable tuition, RA accredited, online, numerous start times: Engl 401 History of the English Language Bachelor of Arts in English Undergraduate Course Descriptions Regarding the writing class, is that directed toward the teaching of individual writing or improving your writing? It might help if you posted your university’s course description (the one that you are trying to match). And welcome to DegreeInfo. If you post some more information I'm sure others will jump in with info.
OK, I love a challenge...so I kept looking. It might be easier on you to only have to go to one school to get both of the classes that you require (less admission issues, fewer transcripts if you need to apply to jobs or grad schools...trust me there are advantages to having fewer schools). So, I don't know anything about this school, but it is accredited and it has classes that I think might fit you. But, they aren’t offered every month like classes at APU or some other online schools. So if you aren’t in a big rush, how about Indiana University East Online? English - School of Humanities & Social Sciences - Indiana University East ENG-G 301 History of the English Language (3 cr) The historical and structural analysis of the English language is surveyed through the stages of its development. Background provided in G205 would be useful in this course. Offered fall semester, odd years. ENG-W 395 Individual Study of Writing (3 cr) Exercise in the study of written expression and communication in informative, persuasive, or imaginative writing. May be repeated once for credit. Offered fall semesters, online. ENG-W 400 Issues in Teaching Writing (3 cr) Focuses on the content of rhetoric and composition, as well as considers fundamental theoretical and practical issues in the teaching of writing. Reviews rhetorical and compositional principles that influence writing instruction, textbook selection, and curriculum development. Offered spring semesters, online.
Impressive find. I will need to add you to the list of "the most impressive sleuth's on DI" which is currently major56 and Ted Heiks. Wow, I am over 6,000 posts!
