Hello, I've done quite a bit of research on this, however I'd like to pick the brains of those who may have some additional insights...

My situation is I'd like to finish my bachelor's...preferably in education, and online. After two runs throuhg 2 large state schools, I've racked upon more than 180, yes, 180, credits in wonderfully diverse areas such as elementary educ., math, and psychology.

And here's a few more kickers...needs to be online near 100% because I am now living abroad. I want to teach in other countries, so certification is not absolutely necessary, but would be nice. I've actually done all my field experiences and student teaching placements, but they were a while ago. Any advice on how to transfer this to another school, or which states may accept these without graduating in that particular degree program?

I've looked at it several different ways. Finish my undergrad with a basic, non-educ. degree via the Big 3 such as COSC, TESC, or Excelsior', either with a individualized degree or not, but not in Education. A lot faster, especially if I don't need keystone/capstone courses (TESC requires a capstone course for the LDAS, and COSC and Excelsior require them for nearly all majors). Then go for Master's in Education online, and try and get certified with international placement (that might be near impossible, but I've seen a few programs with that).

Or, I can try my luck at other schools for the bachelor level, and see how many credits they'd be willing to accept, and if they'd work with me living abroad.

I've looked at WGU (Western Governor's U.), but I'd need to be in the US, or Guam, or the US VI, and I'm not military or family serving overseas.
I've looked at other state schools with distance learning options for Elementary Ed, but most want 30 credits in residence. UW-Superior, for example.
I've looked at Liberty University, Univ.of Phoenix, Ottawa University, Bethel University (have an Intl IB program), UW-Whitewater, Ashford, St. Joseph's University, Drexel University, Capella, and others.
I've even looked at online certification programs such as teacherready.org (part of a number of private, for-profit teacher cert. programs, a lot of these in Texas), that I could do after an undergrad degree without a certification component.

Any suggestions on where to look, or re-look? Thanks so much!

I think you've done your homework, if you'll pardon the educational pun. I say finish at Charter Oak (or TESC or Excelsior). It sounds like you already have the credits to take a Bachelor's. That will help you right now with jobs overseas, and whether you look for a BA completion program or an MA you'll have the same problem when it comes to certification, so you may as well aim as high as possible.

Yes, I think you're right about the certification issue, it's either deal with now or later, but maybe better to begin working first, and then aim higher down the road with certification and master's. Depending on where I am at, there may be other roads, such as international placements, or even other international degrees.

    Thanks for the thoughts...

Any one else have other ideas?

Any other possible alternative routes to licensure/certification? Anyone know of additional programs where master's level student teaching placement as part of an MAT could be completed internationally?

I thought I read somewhere that Grand Canyon University worked with international placements.
And St. Joseph's Online Accelerated Teacher Certification (OATCERT) you can you can have your own classroom for student teaching placements, which is what I may have...I wonder if they mean international too?

Online Teacher Certification | Online Teaching Degree Program | Saint Joseph's University
    I quote from their website:
If so, that would be very interesting.
Other schools seem to have international placements, but it is of their selection and choosing...

Also, if I were to finish at COSC, TESC, or Excelsior...and I'm pretty sure I've got enough credits in the right areas to do so with additional testing or portfolio work, which to choose from? Here's what it looks like it comes down to...

TESU for BA in Social Sciences. No capstone required. Cost: $3200. 3 months.
TESU for BS LDAS. (What would this degree actually say?) Cost: $4200. 4-5 months. Need to take capstone course.
COSU for BA (or is it a BS?) in Individual Studies. Cost $2400. Time 4 months. Keystone course required.
