So after some reflection and discussion, I have decided to go for the EdD

I'm going to start the Liberty Ed.D. at the end of the month.

A few factors determined this course:

    1) I have a very positive impression of Liberty from my MA studies.

    2) My current job's schedule works well with the required intensives for Liberty. I should only have to use vacation days for one of the three required intensives.

    3) Liberty's religious affiliation and integration of faith in the curriculum works well with my employment in Christian higher education as well as with my plans for work in my church's education ministry.

    4) My research interests address religion, psychology, and education, and the ethos of Liberty is appropriate for this kind of research.

    5) I have discussed this with my wife and with my pastor, and I feel that this is the right thing to do at this time.

    (Here's hoping I don't pull a "SurfDoctor" and change my program :)).

Hey! I resemble that statement! I think you will be happy. As you know, I'm in the same program and I love it. Won't be jumping ship on this one. We should compare notes sometime.

Wow, at least they aren't calling it "pulling a Maniac Craniac" anymore.

I wish the best for ya, man.

It sounds like you've done a good job thinking it through and so I'll bet it works out well for you. Please keep us updated as I'm sure there are lots of people trying to make similar decisions who would benefit from your knowledge and experience.

I suppose that technically I am enrolled in the Ed.S., but it is on the way to the EdD.

We might even run into each other during intensives. I plan on going to Lynchburg the week after Christmas this year for EDUC741.

I would guess 741 will be Dr. Black. Mind your p's and q's, she is a fantastic instructor but definitely no nonsense. I will be in Lynchburg this summer for 730. Hope you enjoy the program!

No - a "SurfDoctor" is changing a program, while pulling a "Maniac Craniac" centers more on the inability to pick a program! :naughty:

I've actually decided to pick up 741 this summer instead. I'm showing Dr. Keith as the instructor. I think I will do 747 after Christmas.

Dr. Keith is fantastic as well. She is super easy to get along with and would be great to have on your committee. Shoot me a PM if you need the textbooks, I think I still have mine.

I couldn't PM you because your box is full. I don't need the books, but I was wondering what the post-class assignment was when you took it.
