I am from the Norfolk, Virginia area and have two full-time minimum wage jobs so I know that Online Learning is for me. How good is ITT Tech? I want to take up Network/Internet Security and I only know two campuses that offer it in my area -- ECPI and ITT Tech -- with the latter being my choice since it's being offered online AND I will be getting a degree (Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems Security). Also, how much of a disadvantage am I if I take this particular course online as opposed to taking it in a traditional classroom (I'm talking about
differences in lab exercises, how much will I learn, coursework and the like)? I plan to enroll within the next semester (about 2-3 weeks time) so any info/insight/feedback will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Every location can have good and bad instructors.

They'll take you money - no problem.

If you decide to try to transfer the credits to a reputable four-year school - big problem.

I'd suggest trying to find a RA CCthat will work with you.

If you are in the military, I can help you out.

I checked out both schools and I have couple observation for you consider
    ITT tech

    -nationally accredited (not very good)

-curicculum seems very recent and als includes classes on cryptology and fornesics

-models there classes around employer needs

    -jobplace ment assistance

-easy to navigate the websit to find out coarse informtion

    - established alumni

-will not be able to attend graduate level coarse at A regionally accredited university and you will have to try and find a nationally accredited university that has a masters degree in the field that you are pursuing (good luck with that!)

    -expensive but not unreasonable

    ECPI College of Technology

-regionally accredited (top of the food chain)

    - established alumni

-poorly designed website hard to find out any information about
course with out filling out information for some rep to call you or
send you sometihing in the mail

-will be able to attend graduate level coarse at A regionally accredited university

-price not list on web site but I imagine it is expenisive (that why its not listed)

I guess it depends on your plans for the future I have actually heard some bad things about Itt land campuses in diffrent areas www.studentsreview.com but I have heard notthing Imena nothing at all about ECPI that may not be a good thing either but I do know no matter what anyone says a regionally accredited degree is more respected than a nationally accredited even if you fell right now that you do not ever attend a graduate school it would be good to know if you did more than likely you will not have to retake alot of classes if you do .

That my 2 cents hope it helps Good Luck!!

    Thank you for your reply!

Yes, your reply and this board certainly helped me choose which school I should go to.

I have narrowed it down to two and I wouldn't be surprised if I decide to go to both of them AT THE SAME TIME:

ECPI College of Technology for their Network/Internet Security program; and,

University of Maryland - University College for their Management in Information Systems program

I would certainly enroll at ECPI but I'm having second thoughts now about the not-so-good review about UMUC. If only I could find another regionally accredited school that offers Management in Information Systems...
