    Hi Excelsior students,

    I am not able to see the discussion forum ever since the college made the system upgrade. Is this a common problem ?

    Hmm don't know... I don't remember the forum being used that much... has this changed?

    I just tried again to get into the EPN forum but couldn't. After I entered my user name and password, I get a screen that says "Java error" or something. Hopefully, someone has e-mailed by now to say it is not working. Maybe I'll send one.

    Excelsior EPN site

    Well, I've wasted quite a bit of time trying to get access to the Excelsior EPN site to no avail despite exchanging several emails with their tech support team.

    What did they say?

    If you are having problems getting them to ANSWER your emails, phoning them is a lot easier.

    They've answered my emails in a timely manner.

    Tech Support blamed the problem on incompatibility with my brower (which happens to be IE 6.0) and gave me instructions on configuring the browser. After setting up the browser according to their instructions I'm now totally unable to log in to Excelsior's web site. At this point the problem has been referred to their programming team.

    After a few more go-arounds with [email protected], I finally convinced them to generate a WebCT account and password for me. I was then able to access the Excelsior EPN site without a problem after logging in to the WebCT login screen. Seems the link to "Generate a new Online Services password" just doesn't work in all cases.

    Rosie eventually got in, without enlisting tech support.

    She started at http://www1.excelsior.edu/itweb/services.htm, clicked on "new Online Services password", got the Java error, went back to http://www1.excelsior.edu/itweb/services.htm, then clicked on "set up a user account." She shouldn't have had to do that, since she already had a user account, but the Java error seemed to affect the system's memory. After she clicked on "new Online Services password" a second time, she got 2 e-mails with passwords.

    The latest password works everywhere, including for the EPN. It seems the "WebCT ID" is the same as the login, after all.
