Excelsior has updated their certification to credit listing primarily in the CompTIA area: http://www1.excelsior.edu/itweb/certsite.htm Charter Oak follows the Excelsior listings (Hi Paul), but I was surprised to see Server+ as lower division credits. Rob Waldo COSC AS'78 BA'79 MCP, A+, I+, N+, Server+, CST, CIW etc.
CCNA, CCNP or CCIE Do they offer credits for Cisco Certifications like CCNA, CCNP or CCIE? These are considered very reputed certifications.
Re: CCNA, CCNP or CCIE To date, no they don't, which is somewhat disturbing. They give credit for Comptia and MS certs. Things like CIW, Cisco, CISSP and PMP are not evaluated by Excelsior. I wish they would have !!
It's ridiculous that they give credit for Microsoft and Comptia certifications and not for CISSP, CCNP, CCIE etc. It seems like a biased approach. I am just wondering how they decide. They have to make this transparent/
Maybe they are in the process of evaluating different certs. Evaluating for credit is probably a LONG and involved process. Bill
It's easy to give credits for those that have been evaluated by ACE (Novell exams, for example). For other exams, I suspect they are going for those that are most requested. I suspect that is Microsoft and CompTIA exams. While I suspect that Cisco exams are far more "real" than Microsoft exams (which I know are suspect), I can understand why Excelsior hasn't gotten around to evaluating them yet.
