    Hello all,

I am 30 years old, working full time as an administrative assistant in a company for 11 years now, after working hours I have been repairing pcs at home for the past 6 years.
During this time i have gained lot of experience in hardware, software and windows...etc
Now I thought I should have a diploma, but still confused of which school I must choose in the US and which major I should take. I found so many on the web but not sure where to go yet, what is most important is a 100 % distance learning school, not to pay lot of money and not to exceed 20 months of studying and of course to have a valid and effective diploma in IT at the end. (Please exclude all Microsoft certificates for now :)).

I would appreciate any ideas and have a good day

Welcome to the forum Robert! You should first decide which major you would like to pursue. In the IT field, there are quite a few institutions you could look at like for example Excelsior College, which offers a BS in CIS that is very reasonably priced and can be completed at your own pace (through courses and/or examinations).

The least expensive online degree that I have found is at Fort Hays State University. Others worth looking into would be Bellevue University and Baker College.

Be sure to check the thread titled "Information on BS in MIS" where there is list of several good possibilities.
