I recently got the chance to take a Brainbench exam of my choice for submitting a resume to manpower.com and decided to take their UML test since it related to some positions I'm being considered for. I hadn't looked at Brainbench for a couple years and found that I was pretty close to a certification for their web developer job role, and passed a couple more free exams toward completing it (Java 1.1 which was probably free since it's outdated, and RDBMS Concepts which I think is one of their standard introductory freebies.) Anyway, I like Brainbench's concept and think their cert would likely be marginally helpful in my situation (old mainframe applications guy with recent client-server development and DBA experience who would like to demonstrate web development skills), but I'm not sure the benefit is worth the cost. If I had a couple more freebies I'd be willing to pop for the rest, so if anyone knows about any offers like Manpower's, I'd appreciate hearing about it. Thanks. TommyK
