I had a brilliant idea today that looks like it won't work, but I thought I would ask the experts here.

Is there a college that offers:
    1) Portfolio assessment or ability to test out of all or nearly all courses (ie. get me as far along as possible without coursework)
    2) requires residency (Excelsior is the only one I know of that doesn't but I'm looking for other options)
    3) But would allow me to take courses towards a masters degree program in order to satisfy the residency requirements?

I just talked to Regis University and they won't allow this, but I thought maybe somewhere might. Anyone know?

Noone I talked to would allow this. I heard back from Regis University, University of Hawaii, and Nova Southeastern University.

    So...

My final best options seem to be:

    1) Excelsior
    2) The cheapest institution I can find which would be: University of Hawaii (about $160/credit) or Old Dominion University (about $162/credit).

Capitol College is kind of an option--it only requires 15 credits, but since it appears that it costs $354/credit for their online programs, it makes 15 credits just about as expensive as 30 credits.
