    IIRC the Republic of Ireland (including Sligo) doesn't consider itself British. Not a popular concept. :smile: Just sayin'. Not trying to stir anything up... I know what you meant. Really, I do. :smile:
    "Higher Certificate" seems to me the primary odd term used. "Ardteastas" in Irish, it means two years of study at an Institute of Technology. Definition here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Higher_Certificate
