Hello. I have completed numerous courses in New Zealand during my time at University, but did not complete my Bachelors degree as I needed to move to the USA. I have been in the USA for 2 years and would like to complete my Bachelors (or even an Associates) by using the credits I have gained from University in New Zealand.

I recently had my University courses evaluated by a National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) member; World Education Services, Inc. (WES) and they determined that I have the USA equivalent of 160 undergraduate semester credits.

My biggest problem seems to be the general education requirements from US colleges. Almost all my courses are related to Information Systems/Technology and the only courses close to general education are some literacy and communication courses.

Are there any colleges/universities/technical schools that will allow me to transfer most/all my credits and that also DO NOT require general education?

I'd be happy with an Associates at the very least. I really don't want to have to do any more than 1/2 courses.

I'd like to add that I do have some professional certifications such as Security+, Prince2.

Ideally I'd like to do this online, but am Texas based if there are any schools in Texas that are suitable.

No accredited schools and unaccredited schools fly about as well as a Kiwi bird.

You might want to peruse the CLEP, DANTES, and Other Exams for Credit forum.

What decimon said. Accredited US schools are required to include general education components. I don't believe most British or Commonwealth-orbit schools have the same restriction. Decimon's advice is as good as it gets, if you want a US degree. If that doesn't appeal, perhaps a British or South African distance school might accept your NZ credits and you'd avoid Gen. Ed. courses. I don't think Associate-level degrees are commonly called that in these overseas schools. British schools often call 2-year degrees Foundation Degrees instead. I don't know the limits of exemptions for prior work, etc. Perhaps you're looking at what they'd call a "top-up" program to complete a Bachelor's. I wish you every success.

GEN ED in the USA is the dumbing down socializing training we all have to take.

The three colleges you should ask is Excelsior College, TESU, and COSC. They are know as the Big 3. They allow one to transfer almost the compete degree in with the right credits.

The Shortest Route to an Online Bachelor's Degree and most "flexible" that you can come closest to building yourself is this.
Excelsior College | Bachelors Degrees | BA - BS Liberal Arts | Online Classes

That surprises me, Steve, to say the least. Here's some info on the now-absent poster:

    IP Reports for 107.160.87.208

I recognized it as scrambled-character Vietnamese but couldn't unsnaggle the mojibake (character-set mismap) "You say ASCII, I say Unicode," or whatever. Lost forever, I guess.
