Smile TESU PLA using Saylor Protored courses only

Is it possible to get PLA credits for TESU CS courses using Saylor CS courses with protored finals? Has anyone Got PLA credits for any MOOC or courses only, no experience?

that doesn't make sense. If you take one of the Saylor proctored courses, TESU already takes the credit- doing a PLA isn't necessary.

Currently some of the Computer Science (protored) courses are only accepted at Brandman University . I'm looking into the Data Sructures, Software Engineering , and Algorithm which aren't ACE or NCCRS approved and one of the 22 credits listed nor are they part of teh Alternative Credit Project.

I know this is an old post, but I did talk to someone at TESU and she said most of Saylor's classes will transfer, even the ones not proctored in many cases, through the PLA. After completing the classes at Saylor it's simply a process of having Saylor send your transcript to TESU.

REally, that would be good, but do you have to do a PLA or can you just send the transcript to TESU?

The lady at TESU said it's pretty simple. I'll be finding out in the next few months. You might have to do the PLA.

Every Saylor course that has ACE or NCCRS evaluation will be accepted by TESU (whether or not you can USE it in your degree depends on your degree).

For PLA courses, you can't send anything over. First, take the PLA courses ($) and then you pay a PLA fee to submit your packet. If your packet is approved, you'll get credit. Note that not all PLAs result in credit, and it will involve a CONSIDERABLE amount of work just to submit.

If you're using Saylor, that means you're doing lower level courses - and 99.99% of the time there is a cheap and fast alternative. If you had extensive upper level PLA credit options, that's a different story, but you're doing a LOT more work than is necessary to obtain lower level credit if you use PLA.

EDIT to add: link to PLA info http://www.tesu.edu/degree-completio...folio-FAQs.cfm

link for Saylor courses that will transfer directly: http://www.saylor.org/credit/
