Can I get into Master after 3 year foreign degree

    Hello,
I have 3 year (non-IT) degree from India and 16 years of experience in IT. I was very much interested in doing online Masters program in IT. From financial consideration, I picked up WGU . They do not require GRE/MAT scores. I took TOEFL exam and evaluated my educational degree with WES. As per WES, mine is undergraduate as per US standard. Now WGU is saying that I will not be eligible in Masters program, even after considering my work experience. As per WES result, I have 92 credit, but in non-IT education .
Is it possible to finish few courses of Bachelor program and become eligible for Masters ?
What are my options here ? I do not want to spend 3-4 years (again) to get bachelor degree and then 2 years for Masters.
    Regards

I would ask WGU themselves exactly what you can do to become eligible for their Master's program. You won't have to spend three or four years, though, you may have to do a top up program but that should only take a year.

you could check some UK universities.

University of Hertfordshire has a Masters in Computer Science online that accepts people with non-IT degrees to do their masters.

SteveFoerster - I asked WGU to check same and let me know and they will update me within 10 days. But I am afraid, I should not take whole bachelor course again, as I did 3 year bachelor from India in Biology Science, which did not have any IT related course. If I have to spend 1 year to complete credits, I will do that. Post that, will WGU (or any other university) give me Bachelor degree or that will just make me eligible for Masters ?

nyvrem - I didn't gave thought to any foreign university yet. As of now, I was focusing on US universities only (also affordable one). My opinion is, employer will give more weightage to degree from US first.

I agree with Steve on this one, you need to find out what's missing in order to obtain that acceptance at WGU . If you can't get accepted because you're missing requirements, it'll most likely be the same for another school. Your 3 year degree is 90 credits, a traditional 4 year degree is 120 credits, you're missing 30 credits off the bat.

Even if you had 30 years experience, if you only specialized in those 3 areas, you may do a PLA with them, they most likely would only award 3/6/9 credits each. You're still going to be missing a cornerstone or capstone from the school to graduate from a Bachelors degree.

My suggestion is to get back to WGU , finish a BSIT (with the certifications for better recognition, it's FREE if you don't fail more than twice), then apply to their Masters program as intended. You can get the BSIT within a year or LESS. Think about that... certifications for FREE, the only other program that can match this is Excelsior in flexibility, but not the price.

India follows the British model of 3 years BS, 1 year MS and 3 year PhD. The American model is 4 years BS, 1 to 2 years MS and 4 to 5 years PhD.

Your best bet would be to do a British or Australian degree, otherwise you will be required to take a top up degree. There are plenty of American programs that allow you to complete a BS degree, one these programs could be Excelsior College or Thomas Edison university.

WES evaluates 3-year Indian degree + 3 or more years of experience as equivalent to a 4-year US degree. However, this can be used for Immigration purposes only and CAN NOT be applied for academic purposes.

Yes - very much possible. Apply for a Bachelor degree at WGU or the "Mighty-3" institutions, submit your WES Course-By-Course evaluation for credit transfer. That way, you might be spending less than 2 years (possibly a lot less) to complete your Bachelor's and move on to Masters.
