    Cleveland Institute of Electronics

    Hi all,

I'm considering a AAS degree in Electronics with these guys. I've contacted them and received a pdf of the first class. But, it seems like: A)the material might be a little dated and B) how do they do the "hands-on" portion? I'm familiar with multi-meters, oscilloscopes, but how do they do this?

I have a degree already (Econ) from a traditional school, just considering a career change and trying to do this online.

    Thanks,
    Randy

    Hi Randy,

CIE is a real Electronics and Technology school that have been around for years and never had trouble with been a diploma mill or a bad reputation. Their focus is for technicians that need an associates to get employed or for someone who just want to learn about electronics without becoming a technician. A perfect candidate will be an ex-military or vocational student that had electronics or electricity training and needs an Associates to get ahead.

It depends what you want to take from it but if you are planning on changing careers, today there are better choices since you will need a BS in Electronics Technology to enter the field. You can check Excelsior College .
