I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a online doctorate in information assurance or technology management? Any insight about their programs would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

If you have any specific question? I am currently a student at Nova Southeastern University's Ph.D in Information Assurance. It is a limited residencies program, meaning you have to attend residencies twice per semester.

Another distance learning option for this that gets mentioned pretty often is the Doctor of Science in Information Assurance program from Capitol College, a regionally accredited school in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C.

Thank you both for the information! I have actually looked at both those programs and the DSU one. I have a mixed background between telecom and MIS, so I'm trying to find a school that would let me transfer some of that experience in. What I'm really curious about are the programs more research/term paper based with a mixture of test or they just mainly case studies/ test?

Here are some of the Doctorate in Information Assurance and Security:
    - Columbia University's Doctor of Engineering Science in Computer Science (Information Security concentration)
    - Capitol College - Doctor of Science in Information Assurance
    - Colorado Technical University - Doctor of Computer Science (Information Assurance)
    - Dakota State University - Doctor of Science in Information Systems (Information Assurance)
    - Capella University - Ph.D in Information Technology (Information Security)
    - University of Fairfax - Doctor of Science/Doctor of Information Assurance (Notice: DETC accredited school)
    - Nova Southeastern University - Ph.D in Information Assurance
    - Northcentral University - Ph.D in Business Administration (Information Security)

You will not find most of Doctorate degree on test or case studies. The program is mostly rely on researches. There are rarely test, but mainly on the course subject. The purpose of Doctorate study is transferring a practitioner into a scholar. Therefore, you will spend lot of time for reading and writing (mainly peered review articles). Literature Review, Annotated Bibliography, reliable source, proposal, dissertation, presentation, and etc.

Here is a sample of Nova.edu old class syllabus: URL: DCIS 730 Syllabus

I have some of the most current syllabi, let me know if you want some copy.

Capella University's program is not convenient if you do not have lot of time. The program tuition is per term not per credit.
