Are there any traditional PhD programs that dont require recommendations

I was just curious if there are any traditional on-campus PhD programs in computer science or IT that dont require three recommendations from past professors.

Not sure. The University of the Cumberlands only requires one recommendation for their EdD program, so it's not like three is some sort of magic number throughout all of higher education .

I've seen programs that only require 2 letters of recommendation, but I can't remember which ones. In my search for programs that don't require letters of recommendation, I only came across Regent University 's Doctor of Strategic Leadership and PhD in Organizational Leadership . I'm going to contact them just in case they somehow forgot to list this requirement on their website. Of course, these are of no use to you since the programs are only offered online and aren't IT-related.

I applied to Dakota State's online DSIS program but only one professor has sent in the recommendation form. I had three professors state they would send in the form but only one has done so. The other two haven't sent the form in nor are they responding to my emails. I really don't have any raport with any professors do to the online nature of my MS degree.

Did your program have a lot of adjuncts? I didn't have any problems getting 3 letters of recommendation for my first round of applications even though my program was 100% online. I did have trouble getting the 3rd letter of recommendation when I applied to Texas State University because a couple of professors wanted to be a-holes. They wouldn't even respond to my emails or voicemail messages. When I asked the program's director for a letter of recommendation, I got a prompt response from those professors.
