Trident University alumnus, accepted to MSIT online program at Virginia Tech

I just wanted to throw out a thread that maybe will give others some confidence in their Trident University Int'l degree... I was recently accepted at Virginia Tech for their Masters in IT program, starting in Spring 2014 (see Virginia Tech Online Masters in Information Technology | VTMIT Online for all the gory details).

VT even waived their Java prerequisite for me, after I cited my undergrad 'Intro to Object Oriented Programming' class which focused on Python (completed at Trident) and the industry experience I have.

So go get 'em, other Trident grads!

I was enrolled in that program in its very first year. One minor correction, the earned degree is actually a "Master of Information Technology" not a Master of Science.

Congrats! I completed my undergrad at Virginia Tech. If you have never been to the main campus in Blacksburg, you owe it to yourself to visit. It is beautiful and holds a very special place in my heart.

 

Do'oh, I suppose I just thought of it in my head as a Master of Science degree. That's a weird degree title isn't it? Well I guess MBA stands for Masters in Business Admin, with no "Science" or "Arts" qualifier after it, so I guess that sorta makes sense.

 

At the end of the day it really does not matter. It's a Master's degree and a fine one at that. Looking back I really should have dug in and finished that program but alas such is life, when you don't think you have the time at the moment, you later learn when you really "don't" have the time just how much time you had. My head hurts thinking about what I just wrote.
