    Hello everyone,

I am currently and IT professional, but I only have AS in computer science. I applied for couple of director position and the requirement is a BS degree. I am looking to advance my career by getting a BS degree. I am looking for a most affordable online degree program that I can do while working. I am current resident of New York, can anyone recommend a online computer science degree program.

    Thank you

List of online BS in CS

Oregon State University has an online program, but it is a little pricey. Dakota State University is a good alternative and cheap. I think National University has one as well as old dominion. I don't know of any others at the moment.

If you are looking for a management position why not consider a BSBA CIS at Thomas Edison State College.
BSBA in Computer Information Systems Degree Program

I had basically the same situation as you a few years ago. I had 72 credits in a CS bachelors degree and wanted to get an MBA. Of course I had to finish a bachelors degree to do it. So I chose Thomas Edison because they transferred in all of my credits and allowed me to CLEP out of courses that I didn't have already. They also gave me 7 credits for my MCSD certificate.

The best thing about a BSBA CIS is that you fulfill the business core which means that when you do enroll in a MBA program you won't have to take a whole year of foundation courses like you would if you had a CS bachelors.

Of course TESC also has a BA CS. In most cases when a company says "BS"required they really mean bachelors degree and a BA or BSBA will work just as well. In other countries they don't even have BS degrees so don't worry about the actual designation.
