I'm looking into Accelerated degrees (Less than 1 year programs) and I see very little about quick test taking programs in the IT Field.

Does anybody know how many credits of the 120 credits you can test out for with an accredited college like excelsior?

I see some very detailed guides for BS in Business and I just wonder how many units I can test out for until I must take classes with excelsior, at 425 a unit and 8 week course time it is imposing a major limitations.

Whether or not you can finish in a year depends on how fast you can take and pass tests. Thomas Edison State College has a BSBA in Computer Information Systems in which you can mostly test out of. Then, you could find self-paced, independent study courses to finish the rest. Those are usually cheaper than taking courses at the Big 3, especially Excelsior.

If you are looking for an accelerated program that offers both value and utility, take a look at WGU's College of I.T. undergraduate degrees:
Online IT Degree | Information Technology Bachelor Degree | WGU College of Information Technology

WGU is an accelerated program (self-study) coupled with valuable IT industry certifications. On techexams.net's forum I've read of people completing their bachelor programs in under a year. I'm in the MS in IT Network Management program and will be finished with the entire program in under 1 year.

Just remember if you go to WGU you need to have experience in the IT field or have a cert like A+. I personally do not agree with this type of format especially if the point of you attending college is to learn the field.
