Hi i am seeking a masters degree , but i am taking it step by step , so i found myself comparing between Associate degree in information technology and associate degree in software engineering so which one of them is better for me if i want to take a bachelor degree afterwards at WGU for example PS: i know it is DECT i cant afford the others PS: i prefer software engineering because i am more into programming, but i can ignore my preferences if the other degree gets me to a bachelors
Synosx, You are in the right path; especially, WGU accepts DETC degree for admission. So, you know what you're doing. The question what are you going to do upon graduation? Java Developer, Software Engineering, Program Developer? If so, go for Software Engineering and continue your degree at WGU for Software concentration area. If you're interested in System work (Red Hat, Solaris, Microsoft), or Network Engineering, or Cyber Security. Then stick with Information Technology.
thank you for for the advice, what if i want to continue after software engineering to computer science bachelors, is that possible ?? my big goal is game programming, simulation programming, something similar i am good with physics math mechanics, you name it.
thank you tekman, can i continue education whith this associate degree, to a bachelor degree in computer science ?
Hi Synosx, World College (World College Distance Learning Bachelors Degrees Electronics) CIE's sister school will be offering a bachelor's degree in software engineering that you can do online with labs. If you take CIE's software engineering associate degree it will transfer over 100%. World College is DETC too.
