    Hello,

I am currently in the process of switching my field (human serivces). I've held a couple IT jobs within the last years (including web manager/developer, mostly content creation/updating/some programming in CSS/PHP). I am not sure what Master's program to pick though I am sure I want to do it online to save time and cut costs (traveling, etc.).

My undergrad GPA is 3.4 and my Master's is 3.8 both Psych/Human Services so not really related. However, I will take the GRE's next year in the Spring and I believe I will do very well including the Quant section. I also have experience as mentioned before and IT has been a life-long skill & hobby of mine.

    Options:
MS in IT (seems to be the broadest?)
MS in CS (seems to be the strongest for programming?)
MS in Information Security Management (currently the "hot ticket", long-term?)

I know it depends on what I want to work as, but I have a little bit of a problem chosing a general direction and am excited about all of these 3 options. Can someone help me to narrow it down more? Most important to me is long-term job perspective!

    Thanks! :wavey:

Well, no, because you're the only one who can narrow down which aspects of IT you'd most prefer to do. Networking, databases, programming?

I'd also suggest getting revelant certificates rather than jumping right into a Masters...

With your undergraduate and graduate degrees as well as experience. I would recommend you MS in IT Management, or Information Security (If you find information security specialty is interesting). I would recommend you to stay away from Computer Science due to heavily in mathematics.
